ek.et knocked out of cb
Last night we played Spanish clan 37th in the 1/4 of the Enemy Territory open cup, I got on irc just in time to join the server before the game started, minus coda who had hoovering to do.

We were playing on a Spanish server and understandably given how bad 37th pinged in their own country so it seemed pretty pointless suggesting our server, this however backfired somewhat.

They were pinging 100-200, even higher at times and our pings appeared a little deceiving since they were reading between 60 & 100, they didn’t show the entire team going 999 every minute or less, making it pretty much useless to even try play.

First map was oasis, we were axis so set about defending the old city, as far as I was aware the jump over the wall was fixed in the later releases of ET, guess not, 37th set a time of about 4 minutes which we couldn’t beat.

Now Goldrush, this time we started off as Allies however the team 999'ing became more frequent and at this point I suggested we just default, this is in no way a dig at 37th since they are 1 of the nicest clans I’ve encountered online, in the end we gave the default win and returned to irc, ggs.

Where does ek.et go from here? Well unless someone from the current ek.et squad wants to step forward and put some effort into running it I will probably suggest it be closed down, if you are interested, message me on irc.

Semi final update
Squad Damage beat csx over 4 maps the other night meaning we now face sqd in the semi finals, this game is yet to be scheduled but should be done soon.

nvr were knocked out last night by Le, meaning the chance of an all UK final is now off the cards, ul i guess.

bs on dm6!
Sunday saw us take on nvr on dm6 and cpm4, nvr fielding what you'd probably consider one of their stronger lineups of cummings, yodaz, eri and messiah, ek going with jay, sd, z3on and prodx and malc coaching.

dm6 saw a strong performance from ek with lots of map control and some tasty quad runs (or bs if you're sd) & upsetting eri and messiah in the process, being the established tdm-ers that they are, i can certainly understand why!!! final score 190-128 to us.

cpm4 was a bit closer, but really more of the same (including upset nvr players) this time some didn't last till the final whistle, disconnecting to save the stats!! final score 157-117, ggs.

Next week its German clan Squad Damage.

ek advance to the Clanbase Opencup semi-finals
Here is the clanbase match page from our quarter final game versus REunite. A decent performance from Jay, Prodx, Raw, Requiem and Sd meant that we go through to the semi-finals against either nVr or le. Win one more game in this eurocup and we're guaranteed a cup!

dm7 was played on their choice of server, osp5 on our choice, and we took the first two maps without too much trouble (apart from the best teamkill ever by prodx on antantant). Back on their choice of server, we got outpinged and out-SKed on good ol' DM14, leading to a nervous dm6 where we were outpinged but not outplayed - a win there resulting in an overall score of 3-1 to ek.

GG!

The cows didnt moo!
Well last night anyway.

We beat cow over 2 maps in Jolt, dm7 was a pretty high scoring game with cow deciding to cess us for the majority of it which really didnt pay off to well, map ending 269-127 to us.

And onto ospzzdm15rc3, a map which jay had seen never and the rest of us once or twice, cow taking the initial lead and holding onto it for about 9-10 mins, shot obviously thinking there 20 frag lead was enough to torment ek and jay especially with comments about him sucking on some maps sort of back fired big time as we took over the map and most powerups to win 133-106, unlucky shot.

Playoffs
Last night we advanced into the quarter finals (premier group) of the ClanBase TDM Opencup with an interesting match with xT.

Before the server search was due to start everything looked to be going good, I had got our players and coach into the match channel and xT had most of there’s however come server search time no xT were responding to the channel or queries, after 25-30 minutes of waiting they came round and slowly connected to the first server we proposed (gs.net) they were pinging in the 60s with us having nice looking 30s, xT weren’t happy with the server but the admin had forced the game on it with them taking longer than the proposed time, we kindly suggested to try some servers in countries they said they pinged ok to, namely France and Germany, we tried a French one where they pinged worse and then a German one where they all pinged 30, however now pinged 90, since we had the upper hand of turning up on time we opted back for gs.net which is where the game was finally played.

The first map up was xT’s choice of pro-q3dm6, they had the better of spawns and got hold of the first RAs with us going for rail, the first and second quads going to us and from there I cant quite remember, we had a lot of rail and ra possession after the first few mins had passed allowing us to comfortably win there map 185-122.

Our map now of dm7, first few mins pretty much sealed this map for us, control of RA and 1 area be it mega or YA saw us dominate the score line in the first 10 mins, xT deciding to talk amongst themselves for the remainder of the game with us building up a score of 233-71.

Now back to xT’s map choice of ospdm6, they started off with RA however we cleaned it out with quad and then held it for most the match, some confusion occurred as the admin thought they picked ospdm5 (I did too) but never mind as xT insisted they meant osp6 which was a good job since we were about 7 mins in.

Overall a bit disappointed that xT didn’t turn up on time for the server search so we could have found a fair server for all, claims that they would own us on a fair server and beat us up at LAN’s confirmed that some of there team are total Muppets and should perhaps take a leaf out of ayr’s book who seemed like a sound and reasonably sensible guy.

EK Team: prodx, jay, sd, raw, the_stranger
xT Team: ayr, cowboy, vince, conan

Thanks Decoyroy for admining, cheers Malc for some quality coaching!!

x4 ping!
Jolt finally started for us last night against Dutch clan x4, our week 1 game versus Iron Fist was also rescheduled for tonight however again they re postponed leaving some doubts as to if they will actually take part this season.

The maps for x4 were ospdm6 and dm14, its fair to say its pretty pointless doing a match report as x4 didn’t really put up much of an effort since they felt we were “fucking them over on purpose” I can understand why to a point however we were lead to believe that if a clan has 2 games to catch up on, whether requested or accepted by them that should they need to postpone they will be refused, so we opted to play rather than accept, I’ve since cleared this up with oxi and its 3 games not 2.

gg either way & thanks admin.

And into the playoffs we go!
We played our rescheduled game v ukntot tonight (we wildcarded last week due to lack of terrorists) on gameservers.net!

UKNTOT as germans do picked dm14tmp and in true UK fashion we elected for pro-q3dm6 rather than dm7 (malc crashes lots).

Not going to bother with our own match report, instead i shall use the cb report which you can get below.

Well played everyone especially Malc with some great coaching!! gg's ukntot and thanks shellex for admining.

Match Report.
