bwdml s8w6

Anyone gonna post about bwdml ? :)
We are now heading towards mid season of bwdml so a bigfoot mid season review should be on its way soon. So far we place 3rd in 2b which i think given the amount of draws we have had so far i find quite odd :)
On Wednesday just gone we played PoQ on dm14tmp and ospdm5, dm14 started off as per usual ek style with a piss poor start losing both powerups to PoQ who batterd us slightly in the opening minutes, we finaly took RA and the next BS and closed the gap pretty quickly, winning dm14 99-58, ospdm5 we lead from the start really, final score was 87-43.
The position we are in now looks as if we may possibly end up getting promoted to div 1, if this is the case i will suggest we drop back into div 2 again, i cant be arsed with all the sk style clans in div 1 making out there gods gift to q3, yet boring the piss out of us week in week out :)
Also surg is a cunt.

for the TC connection
|
|
Congratulations to those EK members involved in CTF with Thievery Corporation for winning the Gamer TV Supercap competition (8 X-Boxes/Geforce 4) prizes. Overcoming DP, Souls, TS (twice), Bio and IQS was by no means easy, and I look back on some exhausting games. Pld the TC squad!

BW TDM s8w1
|
Our typical sloppy start to a Barrysworld season tonight, this time against KR.
After falling behind at the start of the first map CPM4, we managed to get to within a couple of frags at the last quad before pushing too hard for the win, eventually going down 84-69.
DM14 we had an even worse start, and the scores were 34-16 halfway through, but a good powerup run (not sure who from... I was too busy being shite having had my one good game for the week) took the scores to KR 33 v 29 EK after 9 minutes. A scrappy conclusion to the game finished with me hitting a rail (my only one I fired all game) before dawg finished off with a shotgun. We won 60-59, and so share the points with KR.
GG PLD.

Season 8 of BW
|
After a lot of behind-the-scenes discussion, the Barrysworld TDM league divisions were announced last week. After petitioning bigfoot, we were granted our request to move down to division two, and we are now poised to take on =DA=, NDC, MB, Xeno, KR, CAT, PoQ, MB* and nD in division 2C. The lessening of the pressure to win (division one is heavy) means we've got the opportunity to reintroduce a few old faces into league games... ok, there's no softening the blow: SURG is going to play a few games for us this season*. I hope the N C U and T keys on his keyboard last that long.
Also good news that QQ, old friends from the days of NetQuake are taking their first steps in competitive Q3, joining BW in division 5. Best of luck to them!
Finally, the clan that tried to convince the world EK was dead (heh, as if) have crept into the backdoor of division 3C. 2eX stand a great chance of winning promotion from what looks a fairly tame division, so perhaps we could be looking at a grudge match in season 9 to prove just how dead EK are :)
* side note for the well-educated-yet-retarded: he has practiced with us a few times recently >;)

End of BW Season
|
Our first season in Barrysworld division one today ended with the game that stood between us and the playoffs. All credit to Gunzoids for being a finely polished act and keeping our rusty gang of warriors off that elusive 3rd spot. Best of luck to them in the playoffs next week.
Today Q3 also loses one of its fathers, as the end of this season sees War18 retire from the game. Good luck, Mark: no doubt we'll see you again when there's a new flavour of Quake around :)
Back to Barrysworld, though. I have to admit I thought Bigfoot made a mistake letting EK loose (yes, one 'o') on division one. After a season away from TDM, we were all firmly convinced that a season in division two would best help us develop our game. All credit, therefore, to the six players who've played this season to keep us up and who performed admirably: blowfish, dawg*, djuhn, raw, war18, z3on*.
Let's see what next season brings...
* especially these two ISDN numpties :)

Back!
|
Hopefully this is world-viewable, which means that our website is operational after it went AWOL. Only the news is working at the moment, but more and more of the links at the side will become operational in the coming days as we tweak the old source to fit with the new PHP system.
Large rufflings directed towards Dave (Grimmy), Jimmy (Coda) and the rest of the gang at Thrustworld for their generous (and speedy) hosting. Also a big shout to Chris Imeson for his ClanCode PHP skillz, without which we'd still be shackled to SSI and NewsSlow :)
Keep watching this space for news of our exploits and the return of the EK Config Guide, Freezetag OSP and our nicepr0n (© SURG) page. All this and more when we get our thumbs out of our arses and stop slagging each other off in IRC.

Coverage :)
|
Bigfoot over at QuakeNation says: "I can't believe someone said Coda's clan was nice."
What's he talking about? Well Reflex from old sparring partners =RD= has been caught on record as saying: "I think the most friendliest clan was EK (Elite Killers) during our BW season. We pracced a lot with them and they showed sportiveness all season long. They won the season but we were the only clan who beated them once :p"
You can check out Reflex's interview here or you can shout at QN's Darkoverlard for doubting our reputation here.

15 months....
|
www.elitekillers.com has been online for 15 months now... It has been hosted by 9 net avenue and sadly 11th October 2001 will be it's last day with them.
I will not be renewing the webhosting package they have presented me for two reasons ;
a.) 300 quid is too much money for me at the moment - it wasn't back then, but it is now.
b.) 9 net avenue has shitty service and the server has been offline for extended periods.
c.) I expected money to be coming in to balance the 20 quid + vat that I pay per month to keep the site up (ie advertising) again through lack of interest on my part, this fell through.
I bought the domain name www.elitekillers.com because back then I had ideas and plans to do something special with it in some sort of business venture. Along the way I lost interest and things happened in my life which meant my hobby, Quake was put on the back burner.
I still own the domain and will probably start it up again soon but this is just to warn that the site may be down for a few days -> a few weeks. If you have anything valuable or have backed something up on the site's ftp - remove it and save it on your PC.
The EK clan is however, still active and will remain active - I still play quake 3 on demon ffa servers - so come find me :)
