We just got back from playing firingsquad in clanbase opencup, 2 pretty convincing map wins see's us 1 game away from making the playoffs again.

Congratulations to z3on, sd and jay for being selected to represent the UK in the forthcoming Clanbase Nations Cup. They join Malc and raw to bring the EK contingent of the squad to five. I have volunteered my services as team doctor, and jeopardy has offered to give warmup sucky sucky to the squad on matchdays.

After consultation with a few others, I did the dirty work of kicking Darkside from the clan on Friday for never actually playing any games for ek.et and participating sod all to the clan over his two month stay (excepting a few hundred lines of autoaway spam in IRC).
I'm not fond of the dirty work, but when people are messaging you on IRC to say "what is that twat doing in your clan?" then you have to wonder. I did wonder. I found out: nothing.

Here is a Game report and also, I'd like to add I really don't care for the whining of 3rd world countries clans like (o)(o) who are from croatia and knowing the limitations of their connects, signed up for the league. Thats all very well and jolly, but don't expect clans to agree to play on your own server which seemed to run on 2 cans and a piece of string.

A shame that tonight's Barrysworld Div 2A title decider was shrouded in connection issues. We went into the match needing to win one map against 2nd placed RnF to take the title. With myself, blowfish, sd, z3on and prodx available, we were almost in a situation where we would have to pick players. We were saved somewhat by eurodx's connection going haywire about an hour before the game. Fortunately Malc finished Clanbase CTF in time to coach us.
They were annoyed by Blowfish's ping, we were annoyed by their French warp and whine (although to be fair, most of their whining was confined to the armchair RnFers on GTV).
We took dm7 pretty comfortably, 153-84. I'm sure the gap would have been larger had we not cessed (RnF certainly had no intention of), but as it was our abnormal ability to hold RA and get most of the quads was enough to win the map and the league title.
Malc went to eat while we played ospdm6, with taking-a-break raw stepping onto TS and the server to coach/shout at us. RnF played an expected standy/snipey game here. Blowfish had problems with dropped sounds (I think he expected French players to make sounds as they came up bouncepads - fool) but sd and z3on stayed focussed and led us to another win, 126-79.
The win puts us 3 points clear of RnF at the top of division 2A, so we gain promotion to the dizzy heights of division one. Our time there may be made a little easier with the triple whammy of surg swapping places with me in the availability department and the rejoining of jay/luckyhands to ek. Wb Jay =)
Jay was looking forward to playing in the BW game tonight, but bigfoot said he could not. Presumably you have to be at the bottom of division 2 and threatened with relegation to division 3 to recruit division 1 standard players. Regardless, it's nice to have luckyhands back where he belongs :)

Pickup-style ownage from z3on on DM6 thanks to the excellent tribute-to-malc-RA-delay-then-quad tactics dictated by supercoach djuhn. Solid 7k performances from raw and s-RAjumpallfpshonest-d, while Blowfish actually appears to have developed aiming skillz. Be afraid!
