Well I finally got around to backing up stuff on my home pc this weekend. This is partly a precaution, and partly due to the fact I want to start messing around with my machine quite a bit. One very large directory I needed to back up was my netquake one... I was supprised what it filled up an 80 min cd completely! This mainly consists of demos right from the very first week that I started playing it to some of the big duel matches nearing the end before I switched to q3. It is nice to feel now that all of it is safe although I doubt it will be some time before I go back and look at any of the demos and great moments of EK. :)

VIA final 4.29 drivers
|
Just released over at VIAhardware, this final, 4.29 release should be considered BETA at the moment because they it hasn't been put up on any of VIA's sites....
Here is a snip from the release notes:
1.Update Via inf version 1.20a .( Add Via inf catalog file )
2.Update via ide miniport driver 3.011 to via pci ide driver 1.04 in win2k

Deus n Antitheus vs elite killers²
|
At 9pm this evening we were due to have our first game with Deus n Antitheus in division 2 of the Clan Wars 2v2 league. The maps were due to be ztn3dm1 and dm6tmp. A no-show gave us a default win, which can't be a bad thing. Many thanks to the rest of the team Jeopardy, Djuhn and Jiro for showing up :)
We still wait to hear whether AYBABTU are needed for the league (although afaik they're not directly respresenting EK).

Clanwars 2v2
|
Well, after loads of practise on DM6 (like I have never played that before!) and ZTN3DM1 (actually, I have never played that map before), Blowfish and I were ready to stomp over any and all opposition in the ClanWars 2v2 League. elite killers² were there and all prepped, and the oppo's didn't turn up :/ So a default win. Tbh, I am quite glad, I do not like ZTN3DM1 and was quite glad we didn't have to play it. Not a hopeful start to the league, however :( Not that bad, I suppose, after all I did have work I had to do :)

Barrysworld Season 5 Division 2D

The divisions have now been drafted and posted on the league website. http://leagues.barrysworld.com/bwq3l/dm/
EK finds ourselves in Div 2D with eX, EA*, n2s, Vs, GVF, rdm, SLH, Clk and CRAPS. 'Also from each of these division the bottom 4 teams will be relegated giving more chance to the teams in Divisions 2a/b/c/d to get promotion to the top level which is something that has been criticised before in the league.
The divisions below this will see a system pretty much as was used before, with each "level" split into 4 equally skilled groups with promotion and relegation between levels' i.e. 2a=2b=2c=2d. 'The important thing to remember when you look over the tables is that the letters mean *nothing* in terms of skill'
...meaning Elite Killers is now officially a Division 2 clan
