BarrysWorld Q3DM League - Season 5 News
From BigFoot:

'Although Season 4 technically only ended last night with the conclusion of the play-offs, thoughts are allready turning towards Season 5. Due to the slightly drawn out nature of the end of Season 4 some clans will not have played for 2 or 3 weeks now, so even though its only a short break for others by the time the league restarts i am sure you will all be itching to get started.

Season 5 will commence properly on Tuesday 20th & Wednesday 21st March, which means effectively a month close season for 95% of clans.'

Also if you haven't read it already - some more news on Barrysworld:
'We are able to start planning of course due to the announcement that BarrysWorld's future had been secured, which you can read more about here: http://www.barrysworld.com/content/pr_eb.htm'

BarrysWorld Quake 3 DeathMatch League
You probably have seen this on www.quakenation.com already, but it is worth repeating here:

Top Scorers
1st. EK (Div3A - 3092 frags from 13 matches)
2nd. HAT (Div3B - 2972 frags from 13 matches)
3rd. I* (Div3C - 2916 frags from 13 matches)

Top Average Winners
1st. 4K (Div1 - Average score of 123.73 to 40.91)
2nd. EK (Div3A - Average score of 118.92 to 36.15)
3rd. UNR (Div1 - Average score of 121.45 to 40.00)

[snip]
If as looks like EK take the title then it will cap a very good season for the all slpb clan. It`s true to say EK have had the upper hand on connections for the majority of the season, however they have also had problems at times which wouldn`t be clear to the casual viewer so it would be unfair to say they won by ping alone. They are strong enough to definitely have an influence on the promotion battle in whatever Div2 they go into, a small but tight squad and good organisation has ensured their success this time around.
[snip]

Nice quote from Djuhn also : 'I am glad EK have won the division because it reflects the amount of effort people have put in when they really should be spending time on other things, most of all though, it`s been a great fun season.' (*ahem*)

ek     173 198
rd 198 173
xpd 242 122 210 100

First map RD vs Nbd was 156-72. Don't know what happens about the 2nd map, but they would need to win it by 282 frags to take the league...

Life is good,
Work sucks -
(God, I hate French history),
Shit happens
Dealing with it :)

Hooojawowah! Easy day today, 10am tutorial (sat next to the most annoying bloke in the world) and it is my wierd tutorial...by that I mean it is the tutorial which my gf also does (hmmm...zen and the art of not embarrasing oneself). Skipped my Ancient History because, and I quote Ferris Bueller, who gives a crap? Actually, it's not that simple, by I needed to do my washing and I was not in the mood to sit in a darkly lit lecture room at 4pm and listen to some old woman drone on about the Imperial élite of the mid-Roman Empire...(jeopardy yawns just thinking about it.) Will go tomorrow, honest :) Actually, I had better since the old woman in question is my tutor :/

Still gorgeous days, still can't find my bike pump (note: buy one...)

I recall Central Park in fall, how you tore your dress, what a m
Woah, two column updates in as many days, next I'll be going to all my lectures and doing work! Speaking of which I have to go to the library at 9am tomorrow morning and do some work for a tutorial at 10am (methinks I should have done it during the week) - that is if there are any books still in the library (/me curses our University library for being, in the words of Mel Smith, wank)

Anyway, haven't got much to say...about to go off and play a lot of Quake 3 Clan Arena and FFA - gotta start practising, etc. To be honest I feel a bit shitty about that. My desk is virtually under the window, and it is such an arse spankingly gorgeous day that I feel a bit bad about not going out and enjoying it. (It is cold enough to freeze the balls of a penguin, tho') and sitting inside playing Q3 seems like a waste. Oh, well, at least I am not in bed (Messrs Lomas and Waterland!)

I don't know why, I must have SAD, but I seem far happier these days, now the sun is shining. I don't think it's bird related (been there, etc.) but who knows. Anyway, I have decided that I am not going to play Q3, I am going to get changed and go for a ride...now where did I put that bike pump?

Oh, all of you who are still reading this: STOP! GO OUTSIDE, FFS! It's a blinding day, what the hell are you, ffs, a vampire? Go get some sun and exercise and stop looking like the Pilsbury dough boy!

Amendum: 2 flat tyres and a rusty chain. 1/2 way to Strathkinnes, I decide "bugger this for a game of soldiers, I'm off home." Oh well :/

Hmmmf busy
Argh, hardly had any time to do all the stuff I wanted to this week. The week wasn't helped by me getting another cold in the second half of the week resulting in me only getting a few hours sleep a night. A 6:30am start on thursday for a trip to Birmingham didn't help much either.

On a good note - the IC q3 competition went well with 25 or so q3'ers turning up. I had nothing to do with the organising of this, but it seems from what has been said after that it worked out very well. This is important for two reasons. Firstly it sets a precident for game competitions in IC - in the fact that this one went successfully with no hassle to the university. Secondly it got a lot of the IC q3'ers together. The actually competition was not serious by any standard - but that wasnt the idea. DC Aquiesce(speeling) won, winning a new optical mouse. Although a few things need to be sorted, I understand there is a strong probability that another will take place again since everyone seemed to benefit (the society hosting and the players themselves). It is also nice to see Mech Eng, my own department taking such a liberal view on gaming. I have seen this before however when I used to play netquake and have the head of mech eng computing sit down next to me or lecturers walk up behind and start watching - This compares well with, say DOC, where all gaming is now banned.

Back home in Bristol this weekend for a break, but more q3 next week...
