Ohmigod badga is a wide boy! But he bought everyone drinks, so we'll forgive him.
Coda chickened out, Jeevan is "ill", the LAN Café is full of German cunt0rstrikers, but nevertheless we are having a great time. This must be about the first time pretty much all of ek has been in the same place at the same time. Many of us weren't at previous i series events and some of us, alas due to being too piste, won't be there at i7 :(
Anyway, line up...badga, blowfish, bob (aka surg), djuhn, g-r0, jeopardy, and rekun.
Long journey down, lots of tube changes, lots of caffeine consumption and a LAN café in Baker Street. That's how we spent our Friday night.

How Silly Can One Person Be?
Well..
Last Nite In A Currently Sucessful Attempt to Fix0r mah pc, I was havin a chat to Surg on irc.
He suggested I do somthin about my 100 Mhz ram on a 850 Processor.
I then realised that I had a 32 Mb Stick of 66 mhz ram in my box...
I decided to remove this...
So - I whiped it out, pluged all mah wires back in and - it booted but.
My Kbrd and Mouse did not work!
Now: My Firend had this problem the other week and his motherboard had fucked up, so I thought mine could have to...doubtful seeing as I only removed a stick of memory.
So, I proceded to shove the ram back in.
Still no Joy.
The time was 2:30 so I went to bed.
Today - I decided to try again - still no mouse or keyboard...
Thay didnt even work at the startup couldnt press DEL or F1 ETC...
So it wasnt the OS that was the problem - My mind was hooked on the idea that my mobo was wank0rd...how silly of me.
I then decided to change over my parts and completly gut my pc to test on my other PC.
Same Problem again - I then thought - Must be the HDD,
but how could it be - Didnt even work on the boot up.
I swaped some of my hard disks around, still no joy at all...
I put all my cards etc back into mah new mobo and tried various other things like removing cards, cdroms, etc.
Still no joy on the Keyboard and mouse.
Now Let it be known that with MS InteliExplorer Mice, If you bind the Thumb buttons etc, the thing can cause your keyboard to stick on Shift hence the caps lock allways will be on when you type.
Also if you want to press shift it will delay by about a minute.
This occours allot with me, and I have to unplug my mouse and replug it in - to get my Shift (jump key in q3) to work again.
My Mind was thinking, JUMP Key = Keyboard
Hence I unplug the keyboard to get it back and when I unplug the keyboard socket is always on the right side of the case.
HAH!
I always unplug the MOUSE which is on the right hand side of the case.
All that work was for me being a wanker and not pluging the Mouse and Keyboard into the right PS/2 Sockets!
What a tit I am
And the part that annoyed me was that I could have dammaged some of mah cards the way i was getting very heavy handed in the end...

Btw:
Surg - Ram removed and my pc aint crashed all day..
I aint tried to play Q1/Q3 online yet - I wanna see if she will last and then later if she still aint crashed - The final test will occour.

With barrysworld drawing to a close soon, it is important for us to get a few praccies in.. in preparation for entering the other leagues.
We have a game at 8:00pm tonight (wednesday) against our recent rivals Reservoir Dogs. Obviously without having rekun disguised as a belgian this will be harder to win than the practice we had on monday.
Current starters: blowfish,bob,devil,djuhn,jiro,rekun
We could all conceivably participate in at least one map if we play 3 maps.
Anyway let me know on irc who wants to play..who is available etc.

The UK Gaming scene has received a huge blow today with the announcement that Barrysworld, the Daddy of online gaming, is to go into voluntary liquidation.

As the Barrysworld web servers are crawling right now (everyone trying to see if it's true... it is) I quote for you the bottom line:
"Unless a last minute rescue offer is successful, anything to do with BarrysWorld will cease to exist on or about the 31st January 2001. By everything we really do mean everything – all the game servers, public, bookable and clan servers, all the leagues, the hosted sites, the email accounts, the dialup, the irc servers, the news and reviews, game guides, the team/player/recruitment lists – damn we’re really proud of what we’ve built… "

Thats right. I will soon have a glut of mice in my humble room. 4 boomslangs to be precise. As many of you know (or should) they have a persistant defect which manifests itself over time.
I will quickly describe this: a spring loaded roller holds the ball against the 2 super sensitive x and y rollers. The mouse is perfectly functional in every way..except when the ball doesnt contact the rollers (obviously). Here is the catch. The spring on the holding roller is shite, and weakens over time. This causes appropriate loss of traction in the x and y in certain circumstances.
The end result for me of this problem is a malfunctioning mouse.
The end result for kärna technologies is posting me a new mouse every 2 months. (on a fucking slowboat it seems..where the fuck are they? cunts)
When the new mice arrive I am instructed to 'cut the cord' on the mouse. Despite uber skills and reflexes i'm not very good with scissors :(
If you want a FREE 'fixed' razer boomslang 1000 mouse (not cordless :)) then find a solution for meh! I am sick of being frustrated at constant loss of traction. Especially on T4 when i have an easy rail against a cunt who has been raping me for 5 minutes and i miss and lose my only chance to retake control.

Well. My exams upon reflection could not have gone worse.
Pharmacology and Pathology were appalling for different reasons.
Pharm because I answered far too many questions..i shoudl have stopped at 40 and accepted a reasonable fail, but no. Persistant belief in the luck factor kept me going and I finished with a 28 percent. A healthy last out of a year of 120. Thinking about this now has given me butterflies in the pit (crypt?:)) of my stomach.
Pathology, a supposed easy exam but actually filled with rock solid questions. 2 hours of hell. In this exam I suffered from a problem i rarely have. Only once before to this extent. I panicked. More for you than me I will break down the exam here. 3 parts - case study, -vely marked mcq's, short answer questions. The case study I got wrong, stupidly I became very scared very quickly (despite laughing for some reason) and DIDNT write anything. A bad mistake..since if i'd just put crap for all the parts i would have passed it. MCQ's..again a total nightmare. FUCK. Short answers, all very nasty, not 1 I could do 100 percent or even close. :((
Standard procedure in my exams is to do a first sweep and see how it went then begin damage limitation. I didnt have chance to do a single sweep..just jumped from question to question in a very unfocussed way.
In reality, my most important exam was Microbiology. I had to pass this to avoid a resit in the summer. I did know a lot of stuff for this, as much as people who had been working far harder and for longer. It wasnt enough..the paper was ruthless in its lack of specificity. Everything I knew came up, but so did the other half of the syllabus :((. It was 3 hours long for christs sake.
Definite fail. O M G.
The only silver lining is the fact that psychology went 'OK'. Reasonable SAQ's combined with an absolutely shite essay should warrant a pass. Again this was a do or die paper, possible resit.
Now. Drunkeness is fun, but last night it was stupidly expensive thanks to Mr Switch. This is a turning point in my academic career.
Something important to understand is that my course is not difficult in the conventional sense. Brains get you nowhere, even if they did..the whole year is pretty bright. The course rewards KNOWLEDGE and learning facts. Time in = mark out.
Tbh I am ashamed of my marks, i'm ashamewd to be graduating a year after the rest of the year. I'm sick of persistently failing everything. Doing all i can to avoid work. Fuck it. I've said it before - this time i'm serious. I have to work very hard to make up for the 30 percenters I got this semester.

Well It Looks Like My PC is absolutly fcukd*...
cant play q3 with a huge 125 fps!!
Cant do fuck all without the blue screen flashing on.
sometimes my pc even re-boots itself.
gettin a tad annoying now - what am I to do?
I wonder if I will ever play q3 again?
Christ, i couldnt even trust my pc to stay idle for 4 hours when I went to town tonite.
