Bizzare events...

OK, I was supposed to have a high speed cable modem installed today. technicians arrived and fitted everything and then right at the end told me somoene had probably slashed the cable wires coming into my house from the street!!!!!!
hmmmm. They need to send specialist people to look at the cabling now which will be done on wednesday now.
Bizzare because I had their telephone service not too long ago and it seemed to be working fine - I mean I was able to make calls.. so annoying. Anyway I shall be unavailable until wednesday. Steve how good is that PC next to your's to play quake on? I could come down to imperial for the game.

ClanWars and Games Inferno

Got this email today:
"Hi everyone Dave here.
Ok, well it is now apparant that Games Inferno are not going to be coming back online in time for us to restart, meaning we haven't any servers at the moment.
I have approached several other GSPs with regards to running our leagues and events on their servers, and I am awaiting their responses.
So until something happens either way, we are on hold. It's disappointing I know, I'm more disappointed than anyone probably, but real life considerations have hit us, with GI having severe financial and technical problems.
I fully expect this "suspension" to be no more than 2 weeks at the absolute max including this week, so at the outside I'd expect us to restart on the 22nd.
Hopefully we should be ready for next Monday (15th), so keep an eye on the website, and your mailbox, for details.

CWRA3 vs Kudos - Monday 8th

Look, I don't wnat to be a complete arse about this, but we need a 5th player for Monday.
So far we have myself, Djuhn, Blowfish, Jiro, and that is it. Now, neither Rekun or Jeevan have said that they most definitely cannot play (at least they haven't said that to me, and I am the only one that counts around here) so I will presume that one of them is playing. Of course, Rekun is in the tricky situation that he cannot play unless the proxy works from College.
I DO NOT WANT TO DEFAULT THIS (pride and the desire for revenge against the only side that beat us in the ClanWars 4v4, so don't let me down!)
Oh, and Saten? SORT YOUR FECKING MODEM OUT, 'kay? Oh, and my 'phone now has Hen Wlad fy Nhadau as it's ring tone :)

Yes its true. Aside from that..last night my friends chris and tarun almost went at each other in the street after a little bit of banter about a certain girl. Well..I stepped in. Some RANDOM ARSEHOLE came up to me and twatted me lol.

Barrysworld 1.27g Upgrade

You may have read that Barryworld are finally upgrading from 1.17 to 1.27g. ref: http://leagues.barrysworld.com/bwq3l/dm/default.shtm
'Now as this is a pretty big upgrade (all mods have to be upgraded along with the plain old Q3 upgrade) it will take a couple of days to filter through all our public servers allthough i expect most if not all to be on 1.27g by the end of Friday.
I am pretty sure a number of you will have tested 1.27g allready but there are a few things to note. Mouse sensitivity is altered in this new version and you should definitely have a fiddle with things before your league game or your going to perhaps find it very difficult to get to grips. Basically as soon as you upgrade get playing.
As i said above you will need to download the new client files for OSP, which you will be able to do on the evening of your games by setting cl_allowdownload 1 before you join the server. I would however advise you to do this before hand by doing the same to any other BW OSP server on say sunday or monday.'
Also check out http://www.xsreality.com/?action=columns&type=staff&staff_id=43&column_id=255 , which talks through some of the changes and suggests how your config should change to match it (cg_smoothclients 1, cg_smoke_sg 0 etc). Also remember as always to back up your 1.17 install for playing on pre-PR servers. (Also note the recent BW IP changes.)

WP Q3 FFA League Launched - (4 Jan 01 - Sniper)

Here it is, the moment you have all been waiting for !. The New Season of FFA Leagues are about to begin. This league will be classed as Season 1 (although i ran season 1 last year). There will hopefully be a few seasons run this year, with a new added feature aswell. On the results page, there will be a link to the overall player ranking page, this page will keep track of your total score throughout this league (and rank you on your score) and will also carry over into the next league, etc etc. I suppose you can class it as the official FFA Ranking system for Wireplay FFA players. Anyway, Signup page is now active, come on people, sign up and kick ass !!.
First game to be played on 31st January (Wednesday)

Well, my 3 week odd sojourn back home will shortly be over. Back on Thursday to Scotland where hopefully there will be snow. I have exams on the 11th (which is a huge bugger off shame) since it means I have to do some bloody work.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy new year. May 2001 bring good luck and fortune to everyone. Also, birthday wishes to John ([EK] Djuhn) who has finally joined the adult community by turning 21 on the first day of this new year :-) Perhaps this is a good opportunity for Coda to sing Djuhn "happy birthday" over roger wilco and Djuhn sheds a tear and they kiss and make up?
